The HR Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping HR processes, supporting cross‑border collaboration, and driving operational excellence as the organisation continues to scale.
Role Overview
The HR Operations Manager will lead and manage the full HR function across the UK and wider European operations. This position will oversee core HR processes-from recruitment and onboarding through to performance management, compliance, and employee engagement-while ensuring all practices align with both UK legislation and internal standards.
This role also acts as a key liaison point between the UK function and global leadership teams, providing strategic HR insight, operational support, and coordination on a range of workforce and organisational matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end‑to‑end HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, payroll oversight, performance processes, and employee engagement.
- Act as the main point of contact between UK teams and overseas HQ on HR coordination, expatriate support, and corporate matters.
- Review, update, and implement HR policies and procedures in line with legislation and business requirements.
- Oversee employee relations, ensuring compliance with UK employment law, ACAS guidelines, and HR best practice.
- Manage expatriate arrangements, including visas, tax coordination, relocation, and housing-related matters.
- Provide strategic advice on workforce planning, organisational structure, and talent development.
- Collaborate with external HR, legal, and compliance partners where required.
- Plan and deliver employee engagement activities such as company events and cultural initiatives.
- Manage insurance renewals, internal audits, ISO/J‑SOX/equivalent compliance activities, and HR documentation.
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure all HR administration is completed to a high standard.
- Supervise and support HR & Admin team members to ensure smooth office and operational support.
- Undertake additional ad‑hoc responsibilities and projects as assigned by senior leadership.
Candidate Profile
Essential Experience & Skills
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in HR, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience, ideally within a multinational environment.
- Experience managing or supervising a small team.
- Strong working knowledge of UK labour laws, ACAS regulations, and HR compliance.
- Hands‑on experience in employee relations, payroll coordination, and HR policy implementation.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work effectively with international teams and leadership.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and stakeholder management capability.
Desirable Experience
- Experience in a small, fast‑growing, or entrepreneurial company environment.
- Interest in media, entertainment, creative industries, or animation.
- Familiarity with ISO or J‑SOX (or equivalent) processes.
- Adaptable, collaborative mindset with the ability to build strong cross‑functional relationships.
