Location: Ross-on-Wye Contract Length: 12 - 15 months Working Pattern: Full Time, 3 days per week on site Annual Salary: £40,000 - £47,000

About the Role:
As a Management Accountant, you will play a crucial role in our client's finance team, ensuring reliable and accurate financial reporting. You'll work closely with operational managers and project staff to oversee financial aspects of management reporting and project control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly Management Accounts, complete with insightful analysis and variance investigations.
- Reconcile key Balance Sheet accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Liaise with operational staff to maintain up-to-date sales forecasts and margin analyses.
- Report on project performance, comparing Actual and Forecast vs. Budget, while analysing key projects and preparing forecasts.
- Create and maintain control spreadsheets for operational project analysis.
- Support the Financial Controller in preparing business cases for exceptional expenditures (e.g., CAPEX).
- Collaborate with department leaders to produce annual budgets and monitor variances throughout the year.
- Maintain accurate cash flow forecasts and assist in year-end audit preparations.
- Provide financial support in project bids and tenders, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance.
- Continuously improve financial processes to enhance overall efficiency.
- Assist with the implementation of a new accounting system and engage in ad hoc tasks supporting Finance and Operations.
What We're Looking For:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and experience:
- Previous experience with Sage 200 is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to create Management Accounts from company records.
- Strong numeracy skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Capable of explaining financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Organised and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent IT skills, particularly in Excel and data visualisation (graphs).
- Experience in variance analysis, commercial awareness, and project accounting is advantageous.
- Qualified or part-qualified in a relevant field.
