Procurement Associate

Our client is seeking a talented Procurement Associate to join their dynamic and growing public procurement team. This is an excellent opportunity for an advisory (non-contentious) lawyer to engage in high-value, innovative procurement matters within a collaborative and supportive environment.
The Role
The successful candidate will be part of a leading procurement team, recognised for its expertise across both advisory and disputes work. Responsibilities will include:
- Providing strategic advice to authorities, utilities, and contracting partners on procurement issues.
- Drafting key procurement documents, including adverts, selection questionnaires, and invitations.
- Advising on the design and execution of procurement processes.
- Supporting bidders through the tender process and addressing any arising issues.
- Collaborating with the disputes team on procurement claims from different perspectives.
- Assisting in the preparation of claims and defences in procurement disputes.
- Managing procurement workstreams on major projects across sectors such as IT, utilities, and construction.
- Contributing to business development initiatives, including client publications and training sessions.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- 1 to 4 years of post-qualification experience.
- Recent experience or a strong interest in public and procurement law.
- A passion for developing specialist expertise in procurement.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong emphasis on teamwork.
- A commercial mindset and a commitment to delivering outstanding client service.
