Job Title:
IT Help Desk Technician (Temporary, Part-Time)
About the Role
We’re seeking a skilled and customer-focused IT Help Desk Technician to join a dynamic technology team on a temporary, part-time basis. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, problem-solving, and providing exceptional technical support in a fast-paced environment. You’ll be the go-to resource for resolving hardware and software issues, ensuring smooth operations for users across a large campus setting.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the first point of contact at the IT Help Desk for walk-up support and ticket resolution.
Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to Windows, macOS, and Chromebooks.
Support common IT peripherals such as printers, projectors, and laptops.
Assist with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace applications.
Maintain accurate records in the ticketing system and ensure timely resolution of issues.
Occasionally travel between buildings on campus to provide in-person support.
What We’re Looking For
Technical Skills:
Experience with Windows and MacOS environments (Chromebook knowledge is a plus).
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
Proficient in general IT troubleshooting, including diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues across multiple platforms.
Experienced in imaging and reimaging workstations, ensuring proper configuration and deployment of operating systems and essential software.
Skilled in setting up and maintaining user accounts, permissions, and profiles within Active Directory and related systems.
Soft Skills:
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and adapt to a rotating schedule.
Education & Experience:
Entry-level candidates and recent graduates are welcome.
1-2 years of prior help desk or IT support experience preferred.
Schedule & Compensation
Part-Time: Rotating 2-3 days per week; typically M/W/F for two weeks and T/Th for two weeks
Hours: Full-day shifts (approximately 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM).
Pay Range: Competitive hourly rate, starting at $20–$25 per hour, based on experience.
