Electronic Warfare (EW) Sensor Systems Engineer
Location: Point Mugu Naval Base, Camarillo, CA
Type: Full-Time, Onsite

A defense contractor supporting the Multi‑Spectral Defensive Electronic Warfare Systems Support Activity (MDEWSSA) at NAVAIR, Point Mugu, is seeking EW Sensor Systems Engineers with 3+ years of relevant experience. Responsibilities:
Analyze ELINT data to support reprogramming across multiple EW sensor systems.
Formulate solutions to technical issues and troubleshoot system behavior using recorded data.
Develop threat libraries for EW systems and conduct threat analysis based on mission requirements.
Perform unit-level testing, programming, and validation of threat libraries.
Support multiple EW domains including radar warning, missile warning, and electronic countermeasure systems.
Produce documentation and participate in technical reviews in accordance with MDEWSSA IPT processes.
Develop operational concepts, conduct trade studies, and support system-level test and integration activities.
Evaluate EW suite performance, capabilities, and operational readiness.
Support integration across multiple aircraft platforms including F/A‑18A‑F, EA‑18G, MQ‑25, MV‑22, H‑1, and MH‑60R/S.
Establish and implement threat data profiles for Mission Data Files.
Conduct mission‑data performance testing using simulation tools to verify detection and identification.
Generate or update technical documentation, including user manuals, test reports, and version description documents.
Prepare and deliver briefings for technical reviews and project meetings.
Provide training to military aircrew and other agencies on EW system performance and development tools.
Investigate system discrepancies, document System Anomaly Reports (SARs), and determine root causes.
Troubleshoot mission data and Operational Flight Program (OFP) integration issues.
Support aircraft flight test activities and post‑flight data analysis.
Support EW suite integration testing and troubleshooting efforts.
Participate in on-the-job training for Foreign Military Sales (FMS) sanitization processes.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience in EW systems engineering or similar functional areas.
Ability to develop solutions from EW gap analysis through concept development, white‑paper proposals, and implementation.
Experience analyzing and interpreting intelligence data and understanding threat characteristics.
Background in EW system design and trade study decision-making.
Familiarity with RF laboratory simulators and test equipment.
Experience with Visual Studio (C++, C#); Java development using IntelliJ is a plus.
Basic understanding of radar and communication systems.
Experience with signal processing and proficiency in MATLAB.
Ability to work independently, collaborate within teams, or lead small groups.
Understanding of EW suite operations and applications.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project).
Strong communication skills for both formal and informal settings.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or a related technical discipline.
Acceptable substitutions:
6 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, or
4 additional years of experience with a related associate degree.
Clearance and Citizenship Requirements
Active DoD Secret Clearance required at time of application.
Must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
U.S. citizenship is required.
Pay Details: $100,000.00 to $150,000.00 per year
