Location: Onsite in South Park area of Charlotte, NC 28209
Schedule: 8 hours/day, potential hybrid flexibility to WFH 1 day/week after onboarding
Job Type: Full-time, W2, Direct-Hire
LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a skilled paralegal to support its full-service law firm client’s Trusts & Estates Practice Group in Charlotte. This role involves comprehensive estate and trust administration, legal drafting, and client coordination. Candidates must be well-versed in NC probate procedures and estate law.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare estate planning documents including wills, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and trust agreements.
- Manage probate filings, trust accountings, and estate tax documentation (Forms 706, 709).
- Coordinate asset valuations, beneficiary communications, and fiduciary duties.
- Draft petitions, motions, inventories, and correspondence for estate matters.
- Maintain trust accounts, reconcile financial records, and support tax preparation.
- Conduct legal research and summarize findings for attorney review.
- Collaborate with attorneys, clients, financial institutions, and external professionals.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, associate’s degree, or paralegal certificate highly preferred.
- 1+ years of experience in trusts and estates law; NC-specific expertise required.
- Proficiency in estate administration, tax preparation, and accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite, and timekeeping systems.
- Strong drafting, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage confidential information and meet deadlines independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to work some overtime and travel on occasion when necessary.
Additional Details:
- Compensation ranges from $60,000 to $75,000 based on education and experience.
- Benefits: Depending on the specific client, location, and role, the benefits may include PTO, medical, dental, vision, term life and AD&D insurance, short-term disability and long-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits, wellness plans, and a 401k plan or a non-qualified deferred compensation plan. Additionally, you may be eligible for paid leave including Paid Sick Leave or other paid leave required by Federal, State, or local law, as well as Holiday pay where applicable. Bonus eligibility and amount are based upon company and/or individual performance.
