Job Title: Procurement Specialist

Location: Chestnut Ridge, NY (On-site)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Salary up to 85k


Summary

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to manage the sourcing and purchasing of component items and subassemblies. This role is responsible for planning, purchasing, expediting, and negotiating materials to support production schedules and the MPS system. The position also oversees procurement, inventory control, logistics, and vendor management.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Engineering and QA to ensure material standards are met and non-conformances are resolved.

  • Control inventory levels to optimize financial resources.

  • Plan and execute purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery and qualification of parts.

  • Maintain accurate delivery schedules in coordination with Planning/Production; proactively resolve supplier issues.

  • Communicate Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to suppliers and manage inventory impacts.

  • Enter and monitor orders from subcontractors/suppliers to meet production timelines.

  • Assist in evaluating vendor reliability and developing new supply sources for cost and schedule advantages.

  • Maintain inventory using Just-in-Time, Economic Order Quantity, and Safety Stock principles.


Education and Experience

  • Professional certifications (e.g., APICS) preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of related procurement experience.


Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience with MRP planning and ERP systems.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Windows.

  • Knowledge of electronic components and the semiconductor industry.
