Payroll Specialist

$75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per Year


LHH is looking to hire a Payroll Administrator for a client located in Chicago. This company offers a a welcoming culture, great benefits and a hybrid work environment.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing, including paycheck issuance and earnings statements, on a weekly and biweekly basis


  • Oversight of incentive bonus processing


  • Compilation of post-payroll reports, including GL reports


  • Management of the uncashed check process


  • Implementation, maintenance, and review of payroll processing systems for efficiency and accuracy


  • Examination of payroll documentation for precision, utilizing internal audit reports for adjustments


  • Approval of timecard changes and monitoring of timesheet status in the Workforce Management system


  • Management of various records and data audits to maintain accuracy and completeness


  • Handling of administrative tasks related to payroll and HRIS, including password resets and data review


  • Collaboration in report generation using HR and Accounting department tools


  • Resolution of payroll discrepancies and communication with management as required


  • Establishment and upkeep of payroll tax jurisdictions across states


  • Ensuring compliance with payroll laws and best practices at federal, state, and local levels


  • Completion of year-end tasks, including W2 review and processing, ensuring accurate earning and deduction code setup



Requirements:



  • 3-5+ years of high-volume payroll experience


  • Previous experience in multi-state payroll management and union environments


  • Proficiency in UKG Pro/Ultipro


  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills


  • Thorough knowledge of federal and state laws regarding garnishment processing and compliance
