Our client is seeking a skilled professional for a Staff Accountant position based in Chicago. The ideal candidate will have one to three years of recent accounting experience, preferably within public accounting or financial services. This role will primarily support Corporate Finance and Accounting, focusing on the preparation of key components of monthly management company accounting and reporting.

Details:

  • Position Type: Direct Hire

  • Location: Chicago, IL-Loop

  • Schedule Type: Fully Onsite-non-negotiable.

  • Salary: $90,000-$100,000

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct monthly analysis of general ledger expenses

  • Maintain journals and subsidiary ledgers

  • Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations

  • Prepare and organize financial reports and documentation

  • Compile internal and external financial data

  • Execute month-end close activities

  • Support the Assist the VP – Corporate Finance in preparing the annual tax returns

  • Contribute to ad-hoc projects as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (preferred)

  • One to three years of corporate accounting experience

  • Public accounting or financial services industry experience is highly preferred

  • Demonstrated knowledge of statutory accounting principles

  • Commitment to working flexible hours to meet deadlines

  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail

  • Excellent communication skills
