Our innovative and rapidly growing client in Hudson County, NJ is seeking a Principal Metrology and Measurement Engineer with strong leadership capabilities to build and scale a world‑class metrology and inspection function. In this exciting role, they will be part of a Transformation Team and will lead the design of a new quality lab, implement advanced measurement systems, and shape how quality is defined across the organization’s entire ecosystem.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead transformation initiatives that elevate manufacturing risk analysis, quality, and continuous improvement.

  • Build and operationalize a metrology driven Incoming Quality Lab including equipment strategy, inspection methods, and analytics frameworks.

  • Deploy advanced inspection technologies such as CMM, OMM, signal integrity analyzers, and flow or leak validation tools while integrating predictive analytics into daily operations.

  • Apply rigorous statistical methods including SPC, Cp and Cpk, GR and R, DOE, and PFMEA to proactively control variation.

  • Collaborate across design, quality, test, and supplier engineering to ensure inspection readiness aligns with production ramps.

  • Recruit and develop a multidisciplinary team of engineers and inspectors.

  • Lead supplier correlation studies, Track and Trace analytics, and closed loop corrective actions.

  • Present IQC performance and readiness metrics to executive leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.

  • 15+ years of experience in incoming inspection, metrology, or supplier quality leadership within high volume and high complexity industries.

  • Expertise in GD&T, CMM, signal integrity, leak or flow testing, and statistical analytics using Minitab or JMP.

  • Strong experience building labs, qualifying equipment, and running calibration programs in compliance with ISO or TL9000.

  • Proven experience leading and scaling technical teams.

  • Backgrounds from automotive, aerospace, consumer electronics, medical devices, telecom, EMS or ODM, or semiconductors are encouraged.

  • Six Sigma Green Belt required, black belt a plus.

  • Experience with liquid cooling or high-speed interconnects preferred.

  • Experience with AI or ML analytics, anomaly detection, or predictive modeling a plus
