HR Generalist
Location: Onsite – Eugene, OR
Compensation: $55,000 – $70,000 DOE
Benefits: Company pays 90% of medical premiums, PTO + holidays
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Schedule: M-F, 8am-5pm
About the Role:
LHH Recruitment is seeking a hands-on HR Generalist to serve as the primary HR professional within our client's organization. This is a key role responsible for supporting all aspects of human resources, including employee relations, benefits administration, leaves of absence, and payroll backup.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the main point of contact for all HR-related matters within the organization.
- Oversee and process employee relations issues, investigations, and conflict resolution.
- Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, changes, and employee communications.
- Manage leaves of absence (FMLA, ADA, state-specific leaves, etc.) and ensure compliance with applicable laws.
- Act as a backup for payroll processing; must be comfortable with manual payroll adjustments and have prior payroll experience.
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure data integrity.
- Support onboarding, orientation, and offboarding processes.
- Supervise and mentor one direct report.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Continuously review and improve HR processes and policies.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in a generalist HR or similar role.
- Experience processing payroll, including manual adjustments, is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of employee relations, benefits administration, and leave management.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency with HRIS and payroll systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
