Job Description: Chief Estimator
Position Summary:
The Chief Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and timely estimates for construction projects. This role involves reviewing project plans and specifications, coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers, and ensuring all estimates meet company standards and client expectations.
What You’ll Be Responsible For:
Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, and equipment.
Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate estimates.
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure competitive pricing.
Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure estimates align with project goals.
Analyze historical data and market trends to improve accuracy and competitiveness of estimates.
Prepare and present cost reports and proposals to management and clients.
Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Assist in developing and implementing estimating processes and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Our Ideal Candidate:
Minimum of 7+ years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in commercial projects.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and estimating software.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and other technical documents.
Strong negotiation skills and ability to build relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
