LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a HYBRID Accounts Payable Specialist in Granite City, IL. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated experience managing the full accounts payable cycle, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments while maintaining compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Title: Accounts Payable Specialist

Type: Direct Hire; Permanent

Location: Granite City, IL

Schedule: Monday - Friday; 1 REMOTE day

Compensation: $50,000 - $60,000 annual (flexible upon experience)

  • Discretionary bonus based on company performance and merit system

Job Description:

  • Assisting with month‑end close activities and related accounting support tasks.

  • Handling vendor communications and responding to inquiries regarding invoices and payments.

  • Maintaining accurate and well‑organized records and documentation in compliance with company policies and standard accounting practices.

  • Reviewing invoices to ensure required documentation and approvals are obtained prior to processing payments.

  • Organizing and prioritizing invoices based on payment terms and available cash discount opportunities.

  • Preparing and processing check requests in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Coordinating check runs and payment preparation while resolving discrepancies related to purchase orders, contracts, invoices, or payments, and ensuring credits are applied for outstanding memos.

  • Providing support on additional accounting or administrative projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in accounts payable or general accounting support.

  • Strong understanding of invoice processing, payment cycles, and vendor management.

  • High attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy in a deadline‑driven environment.

  • Strong organizational, time‑management, and prioritization skills.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for vendor and internal interactions.

  • Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.



Pay Details: $50,000.00 to $60,000.00 per year
