LHH partnered with a local company to recruit for a Project Manager in Alameda, CA.
Project Manager
Location: Alameda, CA (Onsite)
Compensation: $150,000–$160,000 base salary + 10% bonus + RSUs
Employment Type: Exempt, Full‑Time
Key Focus Areas
Support commercialization efforts for new pipeline molecules through disciplined financial execution
Key Responsibilities
Partner closely with PSC Subject Matter Experts to understand procurement plans, project scope, timelines, and manufacturing strategies
Track outsourced manufacturing activities across the full lifecycle, including raw materials, APIs, drug substance, drug product, testing, packaging, labeling, and shipment
Monitor and reconcile purchase orders, ensuring alignment with contracts, scope changes, and internal policies
Improve and mature budget tracking and accrual processes that are currently evolving
Address gaps in supplier spend monitoring and SOX documentation consistency
Provide oversight for high‑value suppliers, including the top manufacturing partners with annual spend exceeding $10M
Lead quarterly expense and invoicing reviews with suppliers and resolve discrepancies in collaboration with Finance and Legal
Coordinate monthly accrual updates with PSC teams and ensure timely, accurate reporting to Finance
Support forecasting activities by organizing PO and expense data and consolidating inputs from PSC stakeholders
Serve as a primary point of contact between PSC and Finance for questions related to budgets, accruals, invoicing, and purchase orders
Ensure adherence to SOX requirements and support audit readiness through strong documentation practices
Contribute to material valuation and master data management efforts as needed
Provide project management support for new initiatives, systems, or process improvements
Drive continuous improvement by leveraging data analysis, stakeholder collaboration, and clear communication
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of relevant experience, or
Master’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience
Lean Six Sigma or Project Management certification preferred
5–9 years of experience in project management, manufacturing, or supply chain within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry
Strong background in biotech manufacturing, CMC, or R&D environments (required)
Demonstrated experience managing cross‑functional initiatives and multiple competing priorities
Solid financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, accruals, and expense tracking
Proven ability to work closely with Finance teams or in finance‑adjacent roles
Experience driving process improvement through data analysis and stakeholder engagement
Understanding of the pharmaceutical development and manufacturing lifecycle
Strong project management and organizational skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Working knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems
Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs) and familiarity with BI analytics tools
Ability to communicate effectively across technical, operational, and financial teams
Pay Details: $150,000.00 to $160,000.00 per year
