Senior Staff Accountant
Location: Land O' Lakes, FL
Employment Type: Contract
Pay: $32-$38 per hour
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team on a contract basis. In this role, you will play a key part in preparing accurate and timely month-end and year-end financial statements, performing account reconciliations, and supporting audits. What You'll Do
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements, including accruals and analysis, ensuring compliance with GAAP/FASB standards.
- Perform and review account reconciliations; recommend and post adjusting entries as needed.
- Assist in developing tools and systems to improve financial reporting efficiency.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Support audit and tax filing preparation with schedules and documentation.
- Review work of junior staff and provide guidance to ensure quality standards.
- Collaborate with other departments to support financial research and decision-making.
- Handle ad hoc reporting and special projects as assigned.
What We???re Looking For
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in accounting; healthcare industry experience preferred.
- Strong month-end close and account reconciliation skills.
- Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP).
- Experience with accounting software; Blackbaud Financial Edge preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Customer service mindset and collaborative team approach.
Pay Details: $32.00 to $38.00 per hour
