Senior Staff Accountant

Location: Land O' Lakes, FL

Employment Type: Contract

Pay: $32-$38 per hour

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team on a contract basis. In this role, you will play a key part in preparing accurate and timely month-end and year-end financial statements, performing account reconciliations, and supporting audits. What You'll Do

• Prepare and review monthly financial statements, including accruals and analysis, ensuring compliance with GAAP/FASB standards.
• Perform and review account reconciliations; recommend and post adjusting entries as needed.
• Assist in developing tools and systems to improve financial reporting efficiency.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Support audit and tax filing preparation with schedules and documentation.
• Review work of junior staff and provide guidance to ensure quality standards.
• Collaborate with other departments to support financial research and decision-making.
• Handle ad hoc reporting and special projects as assigned.

What We???re Looking For

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years in accounting; healthcare industry experience preferred.
• Strong month-end close and account reconciliation skills.
• Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP).
• Experience with accounting software; Blackbaud Financial Edge preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Customer service mindset and collaborative team approach.
