Summary

This role supports day‑to‑day quality operations in a small aerospace/technical manufacturing environment. The Specialist performs inspections, helps maintain the quality management system (ISO 9001 / AS9100 / FAA), and works directly with senior QA leadership to learn the company’s processes and eventually step into higher‑level responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform receiving, in‑process, and final inspections on mechanical parts, electronic assemblies, and finished products.

  • Support the maintenance and upkeep of the company’s Quality Management System (ISO 9001, AS9100, FAA, TUV).

  • Create and maintain First Article Inspection (FAI) reports.

  • Document inspection results (logs, reports, rework summaries, quality database entries).

  • Participate in internal and external audits; help prepare documentation for FAA, ISO, and AS audits.

  • Manage certifications, expiration‑dated materials (adhesives, inks, etc.), and vendor corrective action responses.

  • Assist with FAA‑related documentation and repair‑station compliance needs.

  • Recommend corrective and preventive actions to improve product and process quality.

  • Work closely with QA Managers for mentorship, knowledge transfer, and eventual succession into higher responsibility.

What They’re Looking For

  • 3–5 years of experience in quality inspection or quality systems work.

  • Experience with ISO 9001 and ideally AS9100.

  • Exposure to FAA documentation, repair‑station requirements, or regulated industries is a strong plus.

  • Solid mechanical aptitude and comfort inspecting precision components.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with a small, collaborative QA team.

  • Ability to learn the internal system and take over long‑term responsibilities from a retiring QA Manager.

  • Microsoft Office Suite

  • ERP/MRP systems (training provided)

  • QT9 (new QMS system being rolled out)

  • FAA documentation systems



Pay Details: $70,000.00 to $90,000.00 per year
