Accounts Payable Specialist
Location: Downtown Los Angeles, CA
Position Type: Full-Time, Onsite
Employment Type: Temporary-to-Hire
Compensation: $26.00-$31.25 hourly
Our client is a reputable, well-established law firm located in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles. They are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join their accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a professional services environment and is looking for long‑term stability. The Accounts Payable Specialist will handle the full cycle AP process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, expense reports, vendor payments, and reconciliations. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and previous experience working in a law firm or other professional services organization.
Key Responsibilities
· Process high-volume full cycle accounts payable
· Review, code, and enter invoices into the accounting system
· Ensure proper approvals and adherence to billing and compliance policies
· Handle check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers
· Reconcile vendor statements; research and resolve discrepancies
· Maintain AP aging and assist with month-end close
· Process attorney/employee expense reports and reimbursements
· Assist with 1099 preparation
· Support the Accounting Manager with ad hoc tasks as needed
Qualifications
· 3+ years of Accounts Payable experience; law firm or professional services experience strongly preferred
· Strong understanding of full cycle AP
· Experience with legal billing software or ERP systems preferred (e.g., Aderant, Elite, NetSuite, or similar)
· Proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP a plus)
· Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail
· Strong communication and ability to interact with attorneys, vendors, and internal staff
· Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Pay Details: $26.00 to $31.25 per hour
