Contract/Contract-to-Hire Litigation Attorney
Location: Downtown Los Angeles, CA
Compensation: $75 to $85/hour
Job Type: Full-Time, Temp-to-Hire, Hybrid (3 days onsite)
LHH is working with a well-established civil litigation defense firm located in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles in seeking a seasoned Litigation Attorney to join their team on a contract or contract-to-hire basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigator looking to step into active cases and contribute immediately.
Responsibilities
Independently manage civil litigation cases from inception through resolution
Draft high-quality legal briefs, motions, and discovery (strong writing skills required; law review experience highly preferred)
Take and defend depositions
Handle discovery disputes, including drafting motions to compel and protective orders
Conduct meet and confer communications and manage discovery compliance
Step into ongoing cases while lead attorneys are in trial
Attend hearings, mediations, and court appearances as needed
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school
Active California Bar license in good standing
Minimum of 3 years of experience in civil litigation
Excellent legal writing and research skills (law review experience strongly preferred)
Proven ability to manage multiple cases independently
Experience handling depositions, discovery disputes, and court appearances
Strong communication and case management skills
Ability to hit the ground running and integrate quickly into ongoing litigation matters
