LHH has partnered with a national law firm, who is seeking a skilled Litigation Paralegal to join their team in either the Los Angeles office. This role requires strong civil litigation experience, particularly in tort defense and transportation-related personal injury and property damage cases.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage case files from inception through resolution (mediation, arbitration, trial, or settlement).
Draft and prepare subpoenas, discovery requests (interrogatories, requests for production/admissions), and responses including privilege logs.
Assist attorneys with deposition preparation and expert engagement.
Monitor deadlines and ensure timely responses.
Prepare legal documents including briefs, pleadings, chronologies, agreements, and trial/mediation binders.
Conduct factual investigations, including social media research.
Support trial preparation: organize trial notebooks, exhibit/witness lists, subpoenas, and manage trial presentations.
Attend trials as needed.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of civil litigation experience.
Proven experience with expert retention and medical chronologies.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Proficiency in legal software and tools: Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro, LexisNexis, PACER, Relativity, Sanction, TrialPad, iManage.
Familiarity with State and Federal Court systems.
Strong writing, editing, and analytical skills.
Experience with trial preparation and attendance, including exhibit management.
Knowledge of complex litigation processes.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Commitment to confidentiality and professional integrity.
