LHH Recruitment Solutions is excited to collaborate with a leading organization in search of a Payroll Manager who will take ownership of payroll operations for both union and non-union employees across multiple states and entities.
We’re looking for a seasoned professional with strong leadership skills, deep knowledge of union payroll practices, and a proven ability to manage complex payroll systems.
Location: Madison, NJ- Full time on site.
Temporary to Permanent Position
Compensation- $35-$40/hr.

What You’ll Do
Lead the full-cycle payroll process for union and non-union employees, guaranteeing timely and accurate wage distribution.
Interpret and apply Collective Bargaining aAgreements (CBAs) and union policies to payroll calculations.
Manage all payroll deductions, including union dues, taxes, benefits, and retirement contributions.
Partner with union representatives and internal teams to maintain compliance and resolve payroll discrepancies.
Conduct regular audits to ensure data integrity and adherence to labor laws.
Maintain accurate employee records and process onboarding/offboarding activities.
Prepare and submit payroll reports for internal and external stakeholders, including tax filings and union reporting.
Stay current on federal, state, and local payroll regulations, as well as union-specific requirements.
Serve as the primary resource for payroll inquiries and resolve disputes professionally.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
5+ years of payroll experience, including cost accounting principles and multi-entity processing.
Expertise in union payroll systems and compliance; experience with Sage 300 and HH2 is a plus.
Strong understanding of CBAs, labor laws, and payroll tax regulations.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with employees, management, and union representatives.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Leadership experience with the ability to guide and mentor team members.
Commitment to confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive information.
