IT Operations Project Manager (Remote)

Position Summary

The IT Operations Project Manager plays a critical role in managing technology projects and driving process improvements within the organization’s Information Technology Operations and Service Delivery functions. This position is fully remote and will oversee the full life cycle of IT projects, including changes to Enterprise Applications, IT Security, Network, and Systems Infrastructure. Additionally, the role will contribute to development initiatives leveraging Microsoft Power Platform to enhance operational efficiency and automation.


Essential Functions

  • Manage projects under the IT Operations & Services Portfolio, including Enterprise Applications, Information Security, Endpoint Engineering, and Network/Systems Operations.

  • Lead process improvement initiatives for IT Operations, including documenting standard operating procedures, developing cross-department workflows, and implementing infrastructure change management standards.

  • Develop and maintain IT Operations and Services project plans with clear dependencies, resource estimates, and deadlines.

  • Refine and enforce IT Operations Change Management Process and Governance.

  • Execute project planning and communicate project statuses, risks, and deliverables effectively.

  • Collaborate with IT Operations leadership and stakeholders across corporate departments and software development teams.

  • Facilitate meetings supporting IT Operations and Services Portfolio Management and Controls.

  • Act as liaison between IT Operations and project stakeholders, ensuring alignment and transparency.

  • Evaluate vendor contracts and manage onboarding of contractors for projects.

  • Support annual planning activities for Technology Products and develop backlog and roadmaps based on IT priorities.

  • Transition projects from implementation to operational support.

  • Roll out IT Operations Change Management templates and procedures.

  • Analyze project delivery performance metrics, develop KPIs, and produce reporting dashboards.

  • Gather end-user IT needs and communicate solutions and concerns to IT management.

  • Support IT Operations and Services Management in building scalable IT support systems.

  • Build strong relationships with IT Analysts, Support Technicians, System/Network Administrators, and internal stakeholders to drive change and process improvement.

  • Plan and oversee preparation and dissemination of project communications.

  • Recommend technology strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with industry best practices.

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through continuous learning and networking.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Additional Responsibilities

  • Participate in development projects using Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI) to create tools and workflows that improve IT Operations efficiency.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • 7+ years of experience as an IT professional.

  • 5+ years of Project Management experience in medium to large environments.

  • Strong understanding of application development, infrastructure, operations, and support.

  • Demonstrated expertise in Project Management, Change Management, and Release Management.

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Azure, and familiarity with Power Platform.

  • Understanding of system and network infrastructure.

  • Experience with Enterprise Applications, Systems/Network Administration, and Information Security.

  • Ability to manage schedules and communicate technical needs internally and externally.


Compensation: $70-90/hr
