**Job Title:** Senior HR Generalist (Temporary to Permanent)
**Location:** New York City
**Schedule:** Monday to Friday; 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
**Hourly:** $35-40 (based on experience)
**Job Description:**
We are seeking a Senior HR Generalist to join our team on a temporary to permanent basis. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in human resources, with a strong background in employee relations. While SHRM certification is preferred, it is not required. Experience working in a non-profit organization is also preferred, but not mandatory.
This role will involve collaborating with our HR team to support various aspects of HR functions, including but not limited to employee relations, performance management, recruitment, and compliance. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
**Responsibilities:**
- Handle employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
- Assist with recruitment efforts, including job postings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks.
- Support performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and development planning.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with HR team members on special projects and initiatives.
- Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on HR-related matters.
**Requirements:**
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in human resources.
- SHRM certification preferred, but not required.
- Experience working in a non-profit organization preferred, but not required.
- Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
