LHH has partnered with a great firm who is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys in complex litigation and enforcement matters involving the SEC and other government regulatory agencies. This role requires strong organizational skills, legal knowledge, and the ability to manage high-volume document workflows and communications across multiple stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Assist attorneys with litigation and enforcement actions involving regulatory agencies such as the SEC.
Manage large volumes of documents including e-discovery, subpoena responses, and productions.
Coordinate with clients, expert witnesses, and government agency staff during litigation and investigations.
Support fact development, witness preparation, and deposition/trial logistics.
Serve as the central point of contact for litigation team communications and project tracking.
Draft and proofread legal documents including pleadings, affidavits, and correspondence.
Assist with court filings, service of process, and trial preparation.
Utilize legal software tools including Microsoft Office and Relativity for document management.
Conduct legal research using PACER, Lexis-Nexis, and government websites.
Organize and summarize case materials and legal memoranda.
Verify legal citations and formatting in accordance with The Bluebook and court requirements.
Maintain accurate docket and calendar entries in coordination with legal assistants.
Prepare matrices, charts, spreadsheets, and privilege logs.
Track and record billable and non-billable time accurately.
Qualifications
Undergraduate degree and ABA-approved paralegal certificate required.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a litigation paralegal in a law firm or equivalent legal environment.
Strong understanding of California State and Federal litigation procedures and court rules.
Proficiency in legal research tools (Lexis-Nexis, Westlaw) and document databases (Summation, Concordance, Relativity).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High level of discretion and confidentiality.
Strong organizational and project management abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Ability to manage multiple complex matters simultaneously.
Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and handle sensitive issues with sound judgment.
Willingness to work overtime as needed.
