Legal Proofreader
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Legal Proofreader to support attorneys and legal staff by ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and quality of legal documents. This role is ideal for someone with a strong command of grammar, formatting, and legal style standards.
Must have experience proofreading 10ks/ 10qs documents that are 120 pages +
Responsibilities:
Proofread and edit legal documents including pleadings, motions, briefs, contracts, and correspondence
Ensure compliance with court rules, firm style guides, and citation standards
Review documents for grammar, punctuation, spelling, formatting, and consistency
Verify cross-references, headings, tables of contents, and footnotes
Meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy
Qualifications:
Prior experience proofreading legal documents in a law firm or legal environment
Exceptional attention to detail and strong knowledge of English grammar and usage
Familiarity with legal terminology and court formatting requirements
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and document comparison tools
Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
