About the Role
As a Senior Design Engineer, you’ll lead initiatives in New Product Development (NPD), Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE), and continuous improvement to deliver exceptional quality, cost efficiency, and manufacturability. Your work will shape products that exceed customer expectations and meet national standards.
What You’ll Do
Design & Develop: Engineer mechanical components and systems for NPD projects in product lines such as backflow preventers, pressure-reducing valves, automatic control valves, and fire protection systems.
Lead the Process: Own the full product lifecycle—from concept and prototyping to design verification and production validation.
Innovate with Insight: Gather real-world feedback through job site visits and customer interactions, transforming ideas into cutting-edge designs.
Enhance & Improve: Research and implement design modifications to reduce costs and boost quality.
Collaborate & Validate: Partner with engineers and lab technicians to execute in-house and field testing programs.
Certify Excellence: Secure third-party listings and certifications for new products.
Document with Precision: Work with drafting teams to maintain accurate 2D drawings, 3D models, BOMs, and technical literature.
Champion Safety: Maintain a clean, compliant work environment and follow all safety protocols.

What You Bring
Education: BS in Mechanical Engineering
Experience: 7+ years in product design with a proven track record of innovation.
Technical Skills: Strong 2D/3D modeling (AutoCAD Inventor preferred), FEA/CFD experience a plus.
Hands-On Aptitude: Comfortable working in test labs and with mechanical components.
Knowledge Base: Fluid mechanics, hydraulic calculations, valves, fittings, castings, machining, and injection molding.
Extra Credit: Familiarity with UL certifications, overseas sourcing, and manufacturing.
Soft Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects, collaborate across teams, and execute action plans effectively.
