Accounts Receivable Clerk

LHH Recruitment is partnering with a construction company in Central Phoenix. This company needs a contract AR clerk to join their team for a few months. This is Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, fully onsite. The hourly rate is up to $25/hr.

This role will focus on billing, collections, and supporting project-based accounting functions. The ideal candidate has experience in construction or job-cost accounting and thrives in a deadline-driven environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and issue invoices for construction projects, including progress billing and time & materials billing
  • Process customer payments (check, ACH, credit card) and apply payments accurately
  • Reconcile AR accounts and resolve discrepancies
  • Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances
  • Communicate with project managers and clients regarding billing questions
  • Assist with lien waivers and documentation as needed
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
  • Support month-end closing activities

Qualifications

  • 1–3+ years of Accounts Receivable experience
  • Construction industry experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with progress billing or job-cost accounting is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
