Contract Onboarding Specialist
Location: Plainview, NY (onsite)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Employment Type: Full‑Time Contract
Pay Rate: $25–$28/hour, dependent on experience
Work Arrangement: Fully onsite during training; potential for hybrid after training period
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Onboarding Specialist to join a fast‑paced organization in the Plainview, NY area. This is a full‑time contract role for a candidate who can start immediately, work onsite, and confidently manage onboarding and offboarding processes while ensuring compliance and a positive employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the full onboarding process for new hires from offer acceptance through first day readiness
Handle employee offboarding, including documentation, system access updates, and coordination with internal teams
Prepare, process, and track new hire paperwork, including I‑9s and compliance documentation
Conduct onboarding sessions and orientations
Maintain accurate employee records within the HRIS
Partner with HR and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and compliant onboarding/offboarding
Support a high‑volume, fast‑paced HR environment with strong attention to detail
Required Qualifications
Prior experience handling both onboarding and offboarding
HRIS experience is required
Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Professional communication skills, written and verbal
Must be able to start immediately
Must be able to work full‑time onsite during the training period
