Senior Accountant
Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join a growing accounting team. This role is ideal for candidates transitioning from public accounting who are looking to apply their technical accounting foundation in an industry environment. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger and supporting timely, high-quality financial reporting in a complex, multi-entity structure.
The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of core accounting principles, hands-on experience with month-end close and financial statement preparation, and a disciplined, analytical approach developed in public accounting.
Key Responsibilities
Month-End Close & General Ledger
Perform and support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities.
Analyze general ledger accounts to ensure balances are accurate, complete, and supported by appropriate documentation.
Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
Maintain detailed supporting schedules and workpapers for balance sheet and income statement accounts.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Support variance analysis by preparing actual vs. budget and period-over-period analyses.
Prepare year-end schedules and workpapers to support external audit and tax compliance processes.
Intercompany & Multi-Entity Accounting
Maintain and reconcile intercompany accounts and schedules to ensure accurate recording of intercompany transactions.
Ensure transactions are properly recorded across multiple legal entities and reporting structures.
Expense & Prepaid Accounting
Record and amortize prepaid expenses and other recurring costs in accordance with accounting standards.
Assist with the tracking and reconciliation of recurring liabilities and accruals.
Audit & Compliance Support
Serve as a key point of contact for auditors by preparing audit schedules and responding to information requests.
Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and U.S. GAAP.
Ad Hoc & Special Projects
Support the Controller and Accounting leadership with special projects and process improvement initiatives as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
Minimum of 2 years of public accounting experience (audit or assurance preferred).
Strong foundation in general ledger accounting, trial balances, and account analysis.
Experience working in a multi-entity or complex reporting environment preferred.
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial statement preparation.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and analytical functions.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
