Legal Assistant
Legal & Compliance
LHH is working with a Portland-based legal team who is seeking a highly organized and adaptable Legal Assistant to support multiple attorneys, including newly hired associates. This role requires a strong background in corporate legal environments and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting where priorities shift quickly.
Key Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum 5 years of experience in a corporate legal setting
Ability to quickly learn and adapt to firm-specific systems and workflows
Exceptional organizational skills to manage complex attorney schedules and travel
Strong communication and multitasking abilities
Comfortable handling urgent tasks and shifting priorities with minimal supervision
Responsibilities Include:
Drafting, editing, and proofreading legal documents and correspondence
Managing electronic and physical files, including document comparison and binder assembly
Supporting court filings, trial preparation, and hearing logistics
Assisting with new business intake, conflict checks, and engagement letters
Coordinating attorney calendars, travel arrangements, and client communications
Preparing client invoices and expense reports with attention to billing guidelines
Supporting marketing, business development, and internal training initiatives
Providing backup support across teams and assisting with onboarding new staff
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Experience with legal software tools such as iManage, Litera Compare, Concur, Elite Enterprise, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and DocuSign
Typing speed of 65+ WPM
Familiarity with billing and document management systems

Location: Portland, OR
Work Type: Contact to Hire
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Work Arrangement: Onsite during training; hybrid schedule with 1 remote day/week thereafter
Hourly Pay: $30 - $45

Available paid leave may include Paid Sick Leave, any other paid leave required by Federal, State, or local law, and Holiday pay upon meeting eligibility criteria.
