About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Cybersecurity Engineer to join our on-site team in Sacramento. In this role, you will be responsible for safeguarding sensitive healthcare data, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and implementing robust security measures across our systems and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain security protocols to protect patient data and internal systems.
Monitor networks and systems for security breaches, vulnerabilities, and unusual activity.
Conduct regular security audits, risk assessments, and penetration testing.
Collaborate with IT and compliance teams to ensure HIPAA and HITECH compliance.
Respond to security incidents, conduct forensic investigations, and develop mitigation strategies.
Manage and maintain firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint protection tools.
Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and regulatory changes in the healthcare sector.
Develop and deliver security awareness training for staff.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
3+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, preferably in a healthcare environment.
Strong understanding of HIPAA, HITECH, and other healthcare-related compliance standards.
Proficiency with SIEM tools, firewalls, antivirus software, and vulnerability scanners.
Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and endpoint protection.
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or Security+ are highly desirable.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Compensation: $55-70/hr
