LHH is partnering with a Non-Profit organization location in San Diego, CA to hire a Payroll and Benefits Specialist for a temporary opportunity. Our client is looking for someone to start ASAP, but this does have the potential to turn into a permanent role. Our client offers a generous benefits package, as well as the opportunity for growth. Role Overview: Our client is urgently seeking a dedicated and experienced Payroll and Benefits Specialist to join their non-profit organization. This temporary position has the potential to become permanent based on performance and organizational needs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing payroll and managing benefits for our employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Process biweekly payroll for over 300 employees, mostly based in California.
Work closely with the HR Generalist and Finance team to ensure seamless payroll operations.
Manage the 403b retirement plan, including contributions and compliance.
Audit timecards to ensure accuracy and address any discrepancies.
Assist with any governmental audit requests related to payroll and benefits.
Responsible for payroll processing and reporting.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of payroll processing experience (preferably in a sole contributor role)
Familiarity with Paylocity or similar payroll systems.
Strong understanding of payroll regulations and compliance, particularly in California.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
