Application Administrator

LHH has partnered with a mission-driven organization in the education and healthcare space to identify an Application Administrator to support clinical systems during a major EHR transition. This is a hands-on, user-facing role supporting axiUm today and Epic as the organization moves through implementation.
This position is fully onsite, Monday through Friday. Candidates must be able to work onsite five days per week and be open to occasional evening or weekend work during implementation phases.
About the Role
Reporting to senior IT leadership, the Application Administrator will serve as the primary support resource for clinical applications, including axiUm and Epic. This is an individual contributor role focused on application support, reporting, data analysis, and direct engagement with faculty, staff, and students in a highly visible environment.
The role is being opened due to an upcoming retirement and an Epic implementation, creating a strong need for overlap, continuity, and system transition support. There is strong potential for conversion to a permanent role for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary support contact for axiUm and Epic, including clinic workflows such as scheduling, billing, rotations, statements, and reporting
Provide system maintenance, updates, troubleshooting, and security support for EHR platforms
Manage user accounts, permissions, audits, and compliance requirements
Extract, transform, and analyze EHR data for operational and analytical reporting
Build and maintain dashboards related to access, quality, productivity, billing, no-shows, throughput, and compliance
Develop and maintain reporting aligned to Epic Clarity and Caboodle structures
Write SQL queries and scripts to support reporting, automation, and operational efficiency
Maintain system documentation and training materials in coordination with IT and vendors
Support data migration and process alignment during the transition from axiUm to Epic
Required Qualifications
Hands-on Epic experience is required
Experience with Epic reporting, ideally including Clarity and Caboodle
Strong SQL experience, including Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle-based systems
Experience supporting enterprise or clinical applications in a user-facing role
Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact directly with faculty, staff, and students
Ability to work fully onsite Monday through Friday
Willingness to support occasional evenings or weekends during implementation phases
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with axiUm reporting tools such as SSRS or Crystal Reports
Three or more years working with EHR data in healthcare or dental environments
Advanced SQL skills including complex joins, CTEs, window functions, and performance tuning
Experience building dashboards in Power BI or Tableau
Familiarity with HL7 or FHIR concepts and Epic Bridges
Python or R for reporting automation or data validation
Experience in an academic healthcare or dental setting
Assignment Details
Contract with strong potential for contract-to-hire
Initial term of 6 to 9 months, with likely extension based on Epic implementation timeline
Fully onsite role
Hourly pay range of $67 to $79 on W2
