LHH is sourcing a Database Administrator for our client in San Francisco (8-month contract, onsite role)


LHH is partnering with our client in San Francisco to find an experienced Database Administrator for an 8-month contract position. This is an onsite role where you will play a key part in supporting and optimizing the client’s database systems, ensuring their security, integrity, and overall performance.

Key Responsibilities:



  • System Integration & Vendor Liaison: Serve as the main point of contact between vendors supporting the client’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) system and other integrated systems.


  • Database Management & Support: Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing support of the client’s database systems, with a focus on Oracle, SQL, and related technologies. Ensure databases are performing optimally and securely.


  • System Analysis & Enhancement: Assess existing applications and systems to identify areas for enhancement. Oversee the planning and execution of system upgrades, new installations, and capacity planning activities.


  • Reporting & Documentation: Produce regular reports on project status, system updates, and database enhancements. Maintain detailed documentation for system processes, backup procedures, and recovery protocols.


  • Collaboration: Work closely with system administrators, network administrators, application developers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth database integration and overall system performance.

Qualifications:



  • Technical Expertise: Extensive experience with SQL and major Database Management Systems (DBMS), including Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL. Familiarity with programming languages such as C#, Java, PHP, Python, and R.


  • Security & Data Integrity: Expertise in safeguarding sensitive data, implementing data security protocols, and managing backup and disaster recovery procedures.


  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in database administration, programming, and working with database management systems. Experience with Epic or Wisdom systems is a strong plus.


  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related field.


  • Certification: Must obtain Epic Operational Database Administrator (ODBA) 100 certification within 6 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Healthcare or Technical Environment Experience: Experience working in a healthcare or technical environment is advantageous.


  • Advanced Skills: Experience with BI tools, analytics, and performance optimization. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.


  • Communication & Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Working Conditions:



  • Contract Duration: 8-month contract with potential for future opportunities.


  • Onsite Role: This position is onsite in San Francisco.


  • Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday. Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required to meet project deadlines.
