HR Business Partner (Contract)

Location: Philadelphia, PA
Pay Rate: $40–$50/hour
Employment Type: Contract

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and leaders on HR strategy and employee matters

  • Provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, disciplinary actions, and investigations

  • Support workforce planning, talent development, and succession initiatives

  • Partner with leadership on organizational design and change management efforts

  • Interpret and apply employment laws, company policies, and best practices

  • Support recruiting, onboarding, and retention strategies

  • Analyze HR metrics and trends to drive business decisions

  • Assist with compensation planning and job evaluations

  • Support DEI initiatives and employee engagement programs

  • Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence (Talent, Total Rewards, Learning & Development, etc.)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including HRBP or HR Manager roles

  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws

  • Experience supporting managers in a corporate or professional services environment

  • Excellent communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills

  • Ability to manage sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism

  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office

  • SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SPHR certification preferred

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working in union or regulated environments

  • Prior contract or project-based HR support

  • Change management or transformation project experience
