Staff Accountant

San Mateo, CA (Onsite)

The ideal candidate will have at least two years of accounting experience supporting with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger, be able to work 4 days a week, and possess excellent communication and customer service skills. Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations

• Assist with month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting

• Process and track member billing, dues, and special charges with accuracy and discretion

• Serve as a point of contact for member billing questions, providing friendly, clear, and professional support

• Communicate with vendors regarding invoices, payments, and account inquiries

• Support inventory tracking and expense allocation related to club operations

• Assist with 1099 preparation, audit support, and other ad hoc accounting projects

• Collaborate closely with the Accounting Manager and cross-functional club departments

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• 2+ years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or similar financial roles

• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles (AP, AR, GL, reconciliations)

• Experience in hospitality, private club, or service-oriented environments is a plus

• Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel

• Excellent communication skills with a service-minded approach

• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
