Accounts Payable Clerk (8-Month Contract, Hybrid – Seattle, WA)

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to support day-to-day AP operations for a Seattle-based organization. This hybrid, 8-month contract role will focus on invoice processing, data entry, vendor support, and maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.

Location & Schedule

  • Hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 days remote)

  • Seattle, WA

  • 8-month contract

Compensation

  • $25–$33 per hour, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Process high-volume vendor invoices accurately and efficiently

  • Perform invoice matching (2-way and 3-way) and resolve discrepancies

  • Code invoices to the appropriate general ledger accounts

  • Prepare and process weekly or bi-weekly check runs and ACH payments

  • Maintain vendor files, W-9s, and payment documentation

  • Respond to vendor inquiries regarding invoice status and payments

  • Reconcile vendor statements and research discrepancies

  • Assist with month-end close activities related to accounts payable

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or accounting coursework a plus

  • 1–3 years of accounts payable or related accounting experience

  • Familiarity with accounting or ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Workday, Dynamics, or similar preferred)

  • Basic to intermediate Excel skills

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Professional communication and vendor-facing customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a high-volume AP environment

  • Prior contract or temporary accounting experience

  • Exposure to month-end close or audit support
