Income Tax Accountant / Senior Income Tax Analyst/Financial Analyst — Syracuse, NY (Hybrid)
LHH is seeking an experienced Income Tax professional to support the delivery of comprehensive income tax operations across U.S. GAAP, IFRS, FERC, and regulatory reporting frameworks. This role plays a key part in tax accounting, compliance, forecasting, and process improvements within a highly collaborative, matrixed organization.
What You’ll Do
Prepare monthly income tax provisions under US GAAP and IFRS.
Complete tax reconciliations, rollforwards, and tax-basis balance sheets.
Support complex unitary state tax provisions and uncertain tax position (UTP) calculations.
Maintain income tax accounting in SAP and provision software (OneSource).
Prepare income tax deliverables for quarterly/annual GAAP, IFRS, FERC, and PSC filings.
Support annual federal, state, partnership, and international filings (e.g., 1120F, 8831, 5472).
Assist with FATCA reporting, withholding compliance, audits, and controversy matters.
Work with Controllership on accounting activities and support tax forecasting, research, and planning.
Drive process improvements and collaborate on tax technology initiatives.
What You Bring
5+ years of experience in income tax accounting, reporting, and compliance.
Knowledge of ASC 740, IAS 12, and FERC tax reporting.
Strong understanding of federal and state filing requirements; expertise with CorpTax preferred.
Experience in the regulated utility industry a plus.
Strong technical skills, analytical abilities, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, lead technical discussions, and work in a matrixed environment.
Bachelor’s in accounting required; Master’s in Tax, CPA, or JD preferred.
