LHH Recruitment is working with a company in Tempe who is in search of a full time payroll specialist to join their team. This job is fully onsite, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. To be considered for this role, you must have multi state payroll processing, as well as Union payroll knowledge. The hourly rate is between $26/hr-$31/hr DOE.
Responsibilities:
- Process weekly and bi-weekly multi state payrolls in compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Manage and reconcile union payrolls, including dues, benefits, and wage reporting.
- Maintain and update employee payroll records, ensuring accuracy of pay rates, deductions, and accruals.
- Review and audit timecards, labor distributions, and adjustments for accuracy.
- Collaborate with HR, Accounting, and department managers to resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Prepare payroll reports and assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Stay current with changes in payroll regulations, union contracts, and wage laws.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of payroll experience, with at least 1 year handling union payrolls.
- Multi state payroll processing is required
- Strong knowledge of payroll laws, wage/hour regulations, and union contract interpretation.
- Experience with major payroll systems (e.g., UKG, Paycom, Ceridian, Workday, or similar).
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Pay Details: $26.00 to $31.00 per hour
